Georgetown wins IC4A Champs

The Georgetown men's track & field team won the IC4A Championship today, held in Boston, Mass. The Hoyas led the field of 46 teams with 86 points ahead of Liberty (67), Delaware State (45), Manhattan (38) and Pittsburgh rounding out the top five with 32 points. The last time the men won the IC4A Championship was in 2002.

The Georgetown University men's cross country team placed six individuals among the top-15 overall and cruised to a win at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships, while junior Melissa Grelli (Cupertino, Calif./Presentation) won the women's race to lead the Hoyas to a third place finish of 28 teams at Lehigh University's Goodman campus.

Keira Carlstrom of American University competes in the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional in cross country this Saturday at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. In recently winning her third straight Patriot League cross country title, she set a course record on that same Lehigh 6K course in 20:19. Carlstrom was a runnerup in the Regional in 2004. At the NCAA Championships, she was 16th in 2003 and 17th in 2004.
